Associating Dubai with its fantastic climate and all-year round sunshine with a skiing holiday is probably not the norm for most people. However Dubai is full of surprises and the contradiction of having a ski resort in the desert was one that captured the imagination and this project was opened in December 2005.

In Britain, we don’t get an abundance of either sun or snow, so it stands to reason we’ll go elsewhere for it. Ski resorts are a popular holiday choice amongst the British, and while not as great a variety as there is with sunspots, there’s still plenty of choice to suit any taste. This is the final part of our brief guide to the various ski resorts.

Tignes, a ski resort near Val d’Isère in the Espace Killy region of France, is an ideal destination for all skiers. The resort is made up of no fewer than five ski areas, both at the bottom and at the top of the valley. The areas are Les Boisses, Val Claret, Tignes Le Lac, Tignes le Lavachet, and Les Brevieres.
